At Take Me, we believe in creating opportunities that truly transform lives. Through our partnership with the Rosie May Foundation, we’re helping women gain independence, confidence, and financial freedom — one Tuk Tuk at a time.
One inspiring example of this impact is the story of Sunita, a mother of two young daughters, Shristi (six) and Mahima (two). Sunita lives with her husband, who runs a small shop connected to their home, as well as her mother-in-law and paralysed father-in-law. From the very beginning, her family supported her decision to drive a Tuk Tuk – a choice that has completely changed her life.
Life Before Driving a Tuk Tuk
Life was not always easy for Sunita and her family. After the birth of her first child, she became seriously unwell and required hospital treatment. During the same period, her father-in-law was also hospitalised. To cover medical costs, the family had to take out loans, leaving them in a very difficult financial situation.
At that time, Sunita often found herself borrowing money from neighbours just to get by. Every day felt uncertain, and the burden of debt weighed heavily on her shoulders.
How Take Me & Rosie May Foundation Changed Sunita’s Life
Everything began to change when Sunita received her Pink Tuk Tuk, made possible through the collaboration between Take Me and the Rosie May Foundation.
Today, she earns up to 2,000 rupees a day from driving, allowing her to cover her daughters’ school fees, contribute towards household expenses, and continue paying off family loans.
Sunita also makes sure to save 200 rupees daily for her daughters’ future – something that once felt impossible. Where she once had to borrow from others, today her neighbours come to her for help. This transformation has brought not only financial relief but also pride and dignity to her household.

Breaking Barriers and Inspiring Others
At first, some neighbours and women in Sunita’s community criticised her for driving, believing she should remain at home. But as they witnessed her determination and success, their views changed.
Today, Sunita is respected and admired as a role model for women in her community. Her journey shows how access to opportunities can empower women, helping them build independence and inspire others to do the same.
