No one expected this change. In a quiet village where most women stay home and struggle in silence, Sunita broke every rule. With help from Take Me Cab, her life turned from hardship to hope—and she’s not stopping now.
This is not just another story. This is a journey of power. One that started with no voice, no freedom, and no options. But ended with strength, success, and the start of a movement. Sunita, a woman from Jahada Rural Municipality, once worked under the sun as a farm labourer. Her husband’s small income from a local factory could never cover school fees or rising costs.
She had dreams—big dreams—but no way to reach them. Until one day, Take Me Cab stepped in. And everything changed.
Take Me Cab Transforming Lives: A Journey Fueled by Strength and Training
For many years, Sunita worked in the fields during farming season and took care of the household the rest of the time. Life was tough. Even after working all day, there was never enough money. Sunita said, “I wanted to give my children a better life, but I didn’t know how.”
Then she joined the Kalabanzar Farmers’ Group, where she first heard about the Pink Tuktuk Initiative supported by Take Me Cab. This project helps women learn to drive rickshaws and become financially independent.
That day gave Sunita new hope. She quickly joined the 15-day training programme. She learned how to drive safely, maintain the rickshaw, and talk to passengers. At the end of the training, she received her official driving licence. That simple card became her key to freedom.
Soon after, Sunita was given a pink city rickshaw. She started earning around NPR 35,000 a month. This allowed her to support her family, pay school fees, and save money too. It was the first time she ever felt in control of her own life.
People in the village were shocked. They had never seen a woman drive a rickshaw before. But Sunita didn’t stop. She kept going. She worked hard. In just 12 months, she saved enough money to take out a small loan and buy her own electric rickshaw. Now she works for herself and doesn’t have to pay rent on the vehicle. “I’m free now. I manage my own work and my own time,” said Sunita proudly.

Sunita – A Role Model for the Whole Village
Today, Sunita is more than a driver. She is a role model. Other women look up to her. Her children are proud of her. Even the elders in the village now see her with respect.
But Sunita wanted to do more. She decided to hand over her first pink tuk-tuk to another woman in the village. She isn’t just giving away a vehicle—she’s giving away an opportunity. She is now a mentor, helping the next woman learn to drive, work, and dream.
“I want other women to rise, just like I did,” Sunita said. Her voice now inspires many. And she continues to push others forward.
Her story shows that women in rural areas don’t need to stay silent or stuck. With support, they can learn new skills, earn money, and lead change. Thanks to her hard work—and the support from Take Me Cab—Sunita now lives a life she never thought possible.
She says proudly, “I used to walk behind the plough. Now, I drive my own vehicle. My confidence has grown, and so have my dreams.”

A Story That Inspires the Nation
Sunita’s journey has now reached beyond her village. She has become an example of what is possible when women are given the right tools and support.
Through Take Me Cab, many more women like Sunita are now starting their journeys. They are joining training sessions, learning to drive, and building a future for their families. These women are not only earning—they are leading. They are changing how society sees them, and how they see themselves.
Each pink tuk-tuk on the road tells a story. A story of struggle, change, and power. A story that starts with doubt—but ends with pride, just like Sunita's.
