Event Details – Much Ado about Falstaff, Loughborough
From the talented team behind Old Herbaceous, Three Men in a Boat, and What’s Wrong with Benny Hill? comes a brand-new comedy masterpiece: Much Ado about Falstaff. This unmissable show brings the legendary Sir John Falstaff to life in a way you’ve never seen before. The production lands in Loughborough, offering audiences a chance to experience Shakespeare’s most unforgettable rascal up close.
Played by the brilliant Giles Shenton, Falstaff is every inch the glutton, rogue, and schemer we adore. He’s down on his luck but still up to his old tricks at the Boar’s Head Inn, where life is loud, laughter is plenty, and debts are due. With the sharp-tongued Mistress Quickly (played by Georgie Taylor) always ready to put him in his place, Falstaff must decide — will he finally clean up his act, marry for money, or continue his merry mischief?
Expect an evening of riotous laughter, clever wordplay, and a bucketload of Shakespearean charm. The show captures the warmth, humour, and humanity of one of the Bard’s greatest creations. If you need a joyful escape, this is the perfect night out. Whether you’re a Shakespeare lover or simply looking for an evening full of smiles and silliness, Much Ado about Falstaff, Loughborough delivers it all.
Mischief, Laughter, and Falstaff’s Charm
What makes Much Ado about Falstaff such a treat is its unashamed sense of fun. It’s an evening that doesn’t take itself too seriously — and that’s exactly the point. The audience becomes part of the action, swept into Falstaff’s chaotic world of trickery, tall tales, and tankards of ale.
The humour is fast, the banter is sharp, and the laughter is contagious. Every line drips with wit and warmth, showing why Falstaff remains one of Shakespeare’s most beloved scoundrels. The chemistry between Giles Shenton and Georgie Taylor is electric, making every argument and joke a joy to watch.
The humour is universal, the characters are deliciously flawed, and the energy on stage is contagious, so you don’t need to be an expert on Shakespeare to enjoy it. You’ll see why audiences have been enamoured with Falstaff for generations by the end of the evening. The play is evidence that mischief, laughter, and a good story are timeless.
So, whether you’re interested in the clever wordplay or simply want a fun-filled evening, Much Ado about Falstaff, Loughborough, offers a well-balanced blend of heart and humour.
