Hilarity Bites Comedy Brings Top Talent to Malton
The Hilarity Bites Comedy Club has earned a reputation for delivering first-rate humour across the UK, and Malton is next in line to experience their magic. This show is strictly for audiences aged 16+, given the mature themes and strong language expected – so come prepared for an unfiltered comedy experience.
Clayton Jones, the winner of the Last Minute Comedy Comedian of the Year in 2017 and a finalist in the English Comedian of the Year in the same year, brings his hilarious and sharply observed comedy to the stage. Since starting in 2013, Clayton has become a regular on the UK comedy circuit, making notable appearances at the Edinburgh Festival and Leicester Comedy Festival. His material covers marriage, parenting, school life, and growing up mixed-race in London – all with clever writing and impeccable delivery.
Joining him is the refreshingly honest and riotously funny Dawn Bailey. Turning 50 hasn’t slowed her down – in fact, it’s only made her comedy more relatable and raw. Winner of the XS Manchester Radio Comedian of the Year in 2016, Dawn is known for her no-holds-barred humour and giddy storytelling. Whether she’s talking about motherhood, love, or slimming club meetings, Dawn connects with her audience most genuinely.
Hosting the night is none other than Chris Brooker, a comedian known for his infectious energy and quick wit. A seasoned MC and stand-up performer, Chris has taken his comedy far and wide, including performances in the US and Canada. With his unique mix of original material and sharp improvisation, Chris guarantees that no two shows are ever the same.

The comedians are not just funny; they’re seasoned performers with accolades, festival appearances, and years of experience behind them.
Clayton Jones has been described by Romesh Ranganathan as someone with “funny bones”, and his ability to turn everyday observations into comedic gold makes him a standout. Whether it’s parenting challenges or cultural observations, Clayton finds humour in the relatable. His strong presence and sharp writing have made him a hit at clubs up and down the country.
Dawn Bailey brings a refreshing perspective to the stage. Her anecdotes about life as a middle-aged mum resonate with many, and her natural charm pulls in audiences from the first joke. With a blend of pin-sharp storytelling and offbeat humour, Dawn adds a warm and honest voice to the line-up.
Chris Brooker, meanwhile, ties it all together. He’s a powerhouse performer whose ability to improvise and read a room has earned him a loyal following. Whether he’s hosting, performing, or riffing with the crowd, Chris ensures the evening runs like clockwork – and with a lot of laughter.
